The
faces of TCC represent the individuals and families we serve
in the three counties of Crow Wing, Morrison and Todd.
One
face is the child who gets a Head Start.
Our Head Start
program provides health, education, parent involvement and
social service to low-income families with preschool-age
children. Tour
the Head Start pathway
to self-sufficiency and meet these children in a Head
Start Centers, child
care facilities and their homes.
Another
face represents the parent seeking opportunities for
self-sufficiency. A
TCC parent may use one or more pathways as a steppingstone to
meet his or her education and employment goals.
You may meet one of our Head Start parents
helping in the classroom or on a field trip, serving on the
parent-directed Head
Start Policy Council, saving for a home through the SAVI
program or securing a car
loan.
The
third face represents the community – its resources and
expertise. TCC
participates in and provides leadership to community partnerships
creating opportunities for low-income families to achieve
self-sufficiency.
The
focus of TCC is to encourage personal self-sufficiency through
the development of human potential and creating economic
self-sufficiency through the creation of business
enterprise.
TCC’s
Community Services Programs emphasize the development of
skills and self-esteem, which advance individuals’ and
families’ self-sufficiency.
These programs are described in the four pathways at
the top of the page: Car
Loans/Transportation, Housing,
Loan and Savings Programs
and Head Start/Child
Care
TCC’s
Economic Development Programs provide incentives such as
opportunities for small business ownership to low-income
clients who have viable business ideas but
lack the training and financial capacity to implement them.
To learn more about these opportunities, visit the
green pathway and explore Self-employment
Loans and SAVI.
Licensed family child care providers will want to check
out the Child
Care Business Loan.
TCC
strives to realize its mission by upholding the values of
individual dignity, self-esteem and quality of life through
education, opportunity and creativity with a deep concern for
ethics and community.
Six
goals in the long-range plan define the mission for
communities in Crow
Wing, Morrison
and Todd
Counties. |
